Book Overview
Dan Cody is in love with Leticia Dreams the Truth Hardin, a Crow Indian descendent. Her unique combination of Crow Indian blood and blue eyes are an enchanting combination. For some, Leticia's unique features are a means of attaining immortality. There is a special power held by someone of Leticia's lineage who also possesses blue eyes. Kyra Damon wants that power to gain immortality. She knows all too well that death can give power to those that refuse it, so murder is not part of the plan. However, the plan takes a complicated turn when Dan shows up at Leticia's trading post, unexpectedly, to propose marriage. Kyra and Johnny are left with only one course of action; kill both Dan and Leticia and risk the wrath of the Crow. The course of events that transpire set in place a wild desert road trip. A third conspirator, Raymundo, is along for the ride. He is their guide on the highway to immortality. The trio drives across the Arizona desert to consummate their plan in Las Vegas. Once completed, not even the power of the Crow can stop Kyra Damon. Ultimately, the power of the Crow sends Dan Cody on a mission to avenge his and Leticia's deaths and stop Kyra Damon before it is too late.

Personal Thoughts
I enjoyed the exploration of the Crow Indian legend. Other stories have not addressed the direct influence that this particular legend played in the movie version of 'The Crow'. The use of a rural desert atmosphere was a welcomed change from the often-used urban setting. The desert background helped to emphasize the isolated and barren tone that is inherent to the Crow stories. The novel follows the usual path of Crow stories and then takes a different route. We are taken on a road trip headed to hell. Kyra and Johnny are joined by a "unique" third party named Raymundo. You will have to read the novel to see what I mean by "unique". Raymundo is a wise cracking character who adds most of the welcomed hard biting dialogue during the road trip. He acts as a guide for Kyra in her quest to achieve immortality. Overall, I enjoyed the story, yet could not escape the feeling that the road trip had one too many detours along the way. The story seemed to center more around Kyra than Dan Cody, which was something I did not care for. That point aside, I thought the story was original and entertaining. For certain, 'Wicked Prayer' helps to continue proving that the novels are giving Crow fans some of the best stories in the world of The Crow.
