Trust/Obey's Fear and Bullets
Crow Rating: 3 Crows

Distributor/Released: Ginder Records / 1994
Producer: John Bergin
CD Overview
Music created to accompany the KSP graphic novel "The Crow". This CD was packaged with the original print run of a special hardcover version of the graphic novel. Originally it was limited to 1500 copies. It was repackaged and another 1500 released. James O'Barr co-wrote the lyrics with John Bergin. John Bergin also composed the music. Bergin is a good friend of James O'Barr. After having read the original volumes, he felt that he could put some music to O'Barr's story. You will find, in the most recent release of the graphic novel from 1994, that there are words and symbols in the storyboards, which may be questionable. A lot of these words and symbols come from the music and lyrics O'Barr and Bergin were creating for the Trust Obey project. The CD was re-mastered in 1998, with the addition of more songs, and O'Barr artwork.

Personal Thoughts
The music and lyrics written for Fear & Bullets is very dark. It follows the metal/ punk genre. The mood and atmosphere created by the music helps to enhance the forboding emotions evoked by the comic. Fair warning, the songs are very dark, lyrically. There are no punches pulled with the pain and despair. The one drawback to the lyrics is that the vocals are recorded in such a manner that you can not understand what is being said. To find out what the lyrics are, you have to logon to the Trust/Obey website and print the lyric sheet. (see "where to find" section below for the Grinder Records website)
