David Ullman Update

First off, thanks to LLcruize who helped me to get in contact with David Ullman, creator of the amateur crow movie.

I contacted David on Saturday, the 26th to get the latest developments on his amateur Crow project. At this moment, no new action has been taken. He is waiting on word about the movie being displayed online in chapters. As soon as he knows something, will be sure to let everyone know. I seriously do hope Ullman gets his wish.

David commented that the years working on his movie were very educational (he actually had a first draft done in 1995). Most filmmakers go through film school to learn what he did firsthand. He has developed a non-linear way of editing, which is a better method than he used during the creation of the Crow film. All part of the learning process.

When he began work on re-mastering his movie, as many people know, he contacted many of the people such as the music artists and others, who's music and words were used in the film. Most everyone was ok with the film; it was only the larger agencies, which had legal issues. Due to this, David advises other fans to be cautious. They should funnel their creativity through their own creations. That way, they don't run into the same problems he did. He is still trying to achieve closure from those years.

David is amazed at the fan base protection of his movie. He is thankful for the people that do like his movie. He feels responsible to all the people let down that the re-mastered edition never happened and for the people who still pushed to make their own crow movie.

He still watches the crow movies and series but thinks that the series (franchise) is losing its edge. He does sound happy these days and is going to college. In about a month or less, I will call him again to ask more questions.
