THE CROW: IS THIS THE END?

Well, this is my first article for A Boy and His Bird, so please try and bear with me, folks. First let me say that I am honored that Irony Despair asked me to write some articles for the site, I must say that it's hard to find time with my busy writing schedule, but here is the first of my articles.

The Crow: Salvation is ready for us to see, it has been for quite some time. It makes me wonder where it is? I know the idea of a Crow not wearing all black and not having long hair takes away the image of what people think of when they hear of The Crow, but Alex Corvis is something new and fresh, just what we need instead of the same thing over and over again.

A lot of the people I know are awaiting the theatrical release of Salvation, for I am one of them. I fell in love with the story immediately after hearing about it. I think part of the reason that Miramax/Dimension Films has not released the movie in theaters was the poor feedback from City of Angels. Now, I think City of Angels, not many people do, but I do think that is the reason the film has not been released since last August when it was completed.

Okay, so we've got a new movie ready and waiting to be released to theaters. And Pressman is already lining up the fourth installment, but I think they should hold off on that until Salvation is released.

Where are the comic books? Kitchen Sink stopped publishing the comics when they were doing them, which I felt was a major blow to Crow fans. Todd MacFarlane started doing Crow comics, again that series was cancelled.

Stairway to Heaven, an excellent series in my opinion. Cancelled, but hopefully will be resurrected now that The Sci-Fi Channel is airing the original episodes, and I hear the ratings are quite high on the station.

The Original novels are doing quite well, despite the fact that a new one comes out every few months, which is fine.

I don't understand where The Crow is going, but I hope it is not disappearing, but with the fate of Salvation still being determined and the lack of comic books, it makes me wonder if The Crow's wings have finally been clipped.

Perhaps we will get lucky and The Crow will make a come back with the films, television, novels, and comic books, but only time will tell.
