I was recently involved in a very interesting conversation. Just how innocent does a soul have to be for them to be worthy of the revenge that the crow can help give? This is going to be a little different than my usual articles. I am mostly going to be asking questions. Please feel free to head over to the ChamberRoom where a thread has been setup to discuss this issue.

What is innocent? Is it someone who has lived a sin-free life and has been struck down by the evil that permeates our existence? Or, is it perhaps, someone who is not a total angel, but their plight is one of purity? This creates another question. Is it the person's heart and soul that should be pure or is it their mission? Or perhaps both?

We have assumed that Eric, Ashe and Alex were total innocents. But were they, in their heart and soul? Sure, in their circumstances they were the innocents. But let's face it. That could happen to any one of us. What is it that causes some, in the Crow universe, to be allowed to come back? What is the "sometimes" that Sarah's speaks of in the voice-over during the opening of the first movie? Must it be that someone has died that had a connection with the person coming back? If you notice, in all of the stories, the person has not come back simply because they died a horrible death. It has always been linked to the death of a loved one. Are we to assume, then, that only a death in conjunction with a loved one's death warrants coming back for revenge?

This should be an interesting conversation. As I stated above, this time around, I felt that instead of you reading MY personal thoughts on this subject, I would plant the seed that would generate a discussion allowing everyone to express their personal opinions. I am sure there will be quite a bit of conversation in regard to this. Many of you may not have thought about this aspect before. But, it is a very thought-provoking topic.
