French Crow
Yoann, the webmaster of the French Crow website has sent along an update about the French Crow comics that we told you about a few months back. You can check out the comics by going to the French Crow website. You can see pictures, downloads and buy the comics from there.
The four artists chosen for these comics were selected from literally hundreds of young, brand new artists. These comics are the first time these artists' work have been seen on such a wide scale, so this is their premiere work for all sense and purposes, which makes owning these highly valuable if the artists go on to do bigger and better things.
There will be an English version of these comics coming out soon as well as a French Crow Comics 2 (French only) coming out in December of this year.
So go and check out the website and be on the look out for news about the English version of these comics.
Thanks to Yoann for passing on this information to us.

Graphic Novel Scans
As promised, Crow Fans, here are the scanned pics of the cover art to the new edition of James O'Barr's The Crow.
Cover / Back
Alex Proyas' Next:
The following update comes from Garth at DarkHorizons
I got to speak with Alex Proyas today for a interview that'll go up next week, however I did get to ask a little bit about his next project and here's a small part of what he told me. He's currently in the midst of working out the adaptaton of Isaac Asmiov's "I Robot" and whether it can be done on a technical level - "the visual effects are really, really challenging and I jus want to know if I go into it, that I can actualy pull this stuff off with total belivability. We're trying to push the envelope a little bit technically...it looks very positive at this point". His company just got a draft in for a script called "Drive", based on Harlan Ellison's "Along the Scenic Route" which is "basically about futuristic road rage" though its still in early stages. They've also done a pilot (its still being tweaked) for a TV series called "Riverworld" based on Phillip Jose Farmer's stories, with a January 2003 air date being aimed for on The Sci-Fi Channel and depending upon the pilot's reaction a series could be greenlit. Expect a lot more on "Garage Days" and "I Robot" next week.
Also thanks to ours eyes and ears with all things Proyas, Spiral Clock!

A Detailed Description/Critique Of Reissued Graphic Novel
Once the word trickled down, yours truly headed (actually ran) on down to Barnes & Noble to pick up a copy of the reissued Crow graphic novel. The in-store price is $16.95, you can get it for $15.25 online, though there is a $3.00 shipping charge and .99 tax, so it evens out I guess. If you are a Barnes & Noble prefered member, you get 10% off.
For those out there that have a copy of the KSP graphic novel that was put out after the first few original printings, there are no additional pages inside the book. There are a few more blank pages in the reissued edition towards the beginning, but that is it. Nothing new.
The big change is the new cover art. For those that have followed the forever in the works "director's cut" saga, know that this is the pic intended to be used for the director's cut. The other obvious difference is the original KSP front cover picture is now the back cover picture. One disappointing aspect is the original back cover picture on the KSP version (Eric holding a sword in one hand and a shot gun behind his back with the other) was replaced and not included at all in the reissued copy. A case of "giveth and taketh away".
For those that have one of the original KSP graphic novels, before all of the additional art & poems were added in the later versions of the KSP graphic novel, of course there are a lot of new things, though as I said, these were available in the last KSP versions before they went out of print.
I found that most of the pages have been restored to a crisper and cleaner look. All in all, they did a great job in the transfer and many pages that were kind of dulled over time in the later KSP versions are now vibrant and highly detailed.
This is a must for the collector out there and anyone that has not been able to purchase the graphic novel before. Coming soon.......scanned pics of the cover art.
Take care.....come what may.

ABaHB Remembers
We have decided to not post any news today. Instead, we are taking the day to remember & reflect on the events from one year ago today. In the days and weeks and now months since the attacks, the world has become a different place. Not because the mighty United States was dealt a major blow, but an innocence of freedom was lost. An innocence felt world wide. A lot of things have changed since September 11th, 2001, but one spirit hasn't. That spirit is the ability to stand up after being knocked down, dusting yourself off and carrying on. We rebuild and refocus. And in the end, we never forget. That is a spirit not only found within the United States, but a spirit found anywhere that people enjoy freedom and then have that freedom threatened.
We will continue with updates tomorrow, to include the first scans of the new graphic novel covers. But today, we ask that you reflect and remember
For listings of state-wide ceremonies, click here.
Never forget.......Take care.

Crow Project Updates
Here is the latest and greatest information on four high profile Crow projects:
Crow 4 (Wicked Prayer) - Work on the script continues. With the way the script is progressing, do not look for the cameras to start rolling until the first part of 2003. No actors/actresses have been signed yet, though the deal for the lead role is close to being finalized.
Animated Crow - Kevin Eastman's group continues to ramp up this project. Nothing will happen with it this year for sure. Next year the project will have more progress and we will be sure to keep you up on the latest.O'Barr's contribution to the project is still not clear. At this point, anything that has been reported about his contribution, or what to expect from the project, is pure speculation. So just hang tight and we will get the word out as it comes to us.
LadyDeath/Crow - As most know, this project was dealt a major blow when Chaos! filed for bankruptcy protection. There is still a vague light at the end of the tunnel though. The project was far enough along that IF (that is a big IF) another company so wishes, could pick up the distribution and get at least the initial story arc published. At this time, no one has stepped up to the plate. So, even though a faint pulse is there, until you hear otherwise from us or other official sources, consider the project DOA.
Crow Graphic Novel - As we reported last week, fans rejoiced with the latest news that the graphic novel has been re-issued. You can find it at Borders Book Store, Walden's, Barnes & Noble, Media Play & Books-A-Million (check out the Borders website we posted Friday to order it). Here is a description of the re-issued graphic novel from Arykh, a Crow Immortal from the ChambeRoom:
The cover is different it has a straight shot of Eric in front of the wheels of a locomotive. The cover from the old KSP graphic novel is on the back. The covers from the original Tundra and Caliber comics are featured inside on color pages near the back. There appear to be a few new pages, but to be honest I will have to go through page by page to figure those out.
To see a copy of the cover yourself, check out the Barnes & Nobel site to see it
There you go. The latest and greatest on four of the most frequently asked about projects going on right now.
Take care.....come what may.

The Crow Graphic Novel/ Trade Paperback Available On A Mass Market Scale Again!
Fans who have not been able to get their hands on the Kitchen Sink Press graphic novel/trade paperback version of O'Barr's initial Crow creation, either due to unavailability or price, now have a place to go! Based on a tip from ChambeRoom visitor Kzee, I checked with Borders.com, a book company who is in partnership with Walden's and Amazon.com. Sure enough I found the book listed as re-released in September 2002. You can go to any of their stores and buy/order it or get it online here . Also, we received word from DerrangeDevil that he saw a copy of the re-released graphic novel/trade paperback at a Books-A-Million store. Not only that, but he reported it having a new cover, the picture of Eric sitting in front of Shelly's grave marker from the comic (a check of their online site lists the book as still out of print, though they may not have updated their site yet). The Borders site did not indicate the cover was different (they still show the cover being the same KSP one), but no matter the cover, it is now available on a mass market scale. Also, it is being offered for $16.95, a much lower price than ever before. So head out to your local Borders, Waldens, or Books-A-Million and see if they have a copy. If there is not one in stock, all three places do special order items.
Thanks to Kzee and DerrangeDevil .
Take care.....come what may.
