The Broad Spectrum Of Crow Consciousness Returns

We started a joint venture with the ChambeRoom earlier in the year. Twisted Spine, webmaster of The ChamberRoom and myself, LLcruize, would sit down and write an article on the same subject. The catch is he and I usually come from very different points of perspective in regard to The Crow. So it is an opportunity to see two differing opinions on the same subject. This week, we will each look at what we feel what the Crow needs to do in order to be a viable franchise in the future. After the articles are posted, we invite everyone over to the ChambeRoom to discuss the articles in more detail. So be looking out for these articles later this week.

Ramona, webmaster of one of the biggest crow fan art websites on the net, has some new editions. One of those is pictures of the complete first draft of the COA script pages. So go give the script pages a look, as well as check out all of the other great stuff that Ramona has on her website (to include pics of the Salvation script and the coat from COA that she was able to purchase).

Resurrecting Bruce Lee

The Dark One has let us know of this great use for technology in resurrecting Bruce Lee! Here is Cinescape with the full low down:

"The late, legendary martial arts movie star Bruce Lee will live again in a new feature film via the wonders of computer effects. The Korean ShinCine production, headed by Chul Shin and partially backed by Samsung, has acquired the rights to Lee's likeness from his estate to be featured prominently in a $50M chop socky project called DRAGON WARRIOR. The film's script is currently going through its third draft and will be further refined with an eye towards American audiences. DRAGON WARRIOR will be the first film to digitally recreate a known actor for a major film role. Still, don't expect this to happen overnight, due to word that ShinCine has not, as yet, selected a studio to create the film's CG material. Regarding the project, Lee's daughter, Shannon Lee, explained why the family agreed to allow her father's image to be recreated, saying, 'we believe in ShinCine's and Mr. Shin's enthusiasm and commitment to making a first-rate film.'"

"Brotherhood" Gets Extensive French DVD Release

Over at Darkhorizons, they have reported Mark Dacascos' latest movie, "Brotherhood Of The Wolf" is out on French DVD. The DVD is packed with some great stuff. Though, the commentary lacks Mark's input. Here is what they reported:

Brotherhood of the Wolf: That elaborate 3-disc French edition just came out and those interested in finding out some of the things we can hope for in an eventual Region 1 release should read the contents list: Commentary Track 1 by Director Christophe Gans, Commentary Track 2 by actors Vincent Cassel and Samuel Bihan, an 80-minute 'Making of' Feature, a 90-minute documentary on 'Turning', a 36-minute editing featurette, an interview with historian Michel Louis, deleted scenes, trailers, storyboards, stills, posters, production notes, press kit and DVD-Rom content. Sadly the soundtracks and subtitles are French only, no English. Thanks to 'Cava'

As I mentioned, it is disappointing for STH/Mark Dacascos fans that he is not part of the commentary. But given that it is in French, he probably was not able to participate. Maybe, for the U.S. region 1 release, he will participate.

Lazarus Script Review

Though the sun has set on Lazarus being a Crow project, here is a review of the script when it was still set to be a Crow movie. Our friends over at Darkhorizons posted the review today. There is not much detail to the review, though it does somewhat explain the story premise. The review does note that the film is no longer attached as a Crow project, but it does not hint at when the movie will possibly ramp up.

Zombie's "House" Finally Finds a Home.....Maybe.

Crow soundtrack alum Rob Zombie may have found a distributor for his film "House of 1000 Corpses". See the update below that DarkHorizons posted:

House of 1000 Corpses: 93x reports that the Rob Zombie movie has found distribution at last, though don't say who. This comes at a time when rumors have now started that it won't be getting theatrical release, but rather head to DVD sometime after Christmas - and will be uncut.

Go to the official website for more information on the film.

Mark Dacascos' "Brotherhood Of The Wolf" U.S. Release

The latest Mark Dacascos movie has received major kudos from critics and fans alike over in France and by fans and critics here in the U.S. who have seen it. It is scheduled to get a U.S. release, but only in New York and L.A. The major reason behind this is Universal is uneasy about how well it will play in the states since it does have subtitles. There is a fan petition being formed to get Universal to rethink their release plans and go wider. If you have not seen the trailer for it, go to the official website and check it out. Please go by the petition site and sign it. This is very important as every vote helps.

Take care.....amf

C3 Alive Again

An update came our way from MoonMistress that they have just released 2 comics and the first Crow Short over at the C3 site. For those that do not know, it is an online comic that a group of fans have worked extremely hard on. It is a fantastic online comic and is a must for the Crow community to check out.

Updating Around

Due to some busy behind the scenes work, we've had to put off the last two updates, but come back soon for some news!

November 2nd-5th, 2001

Archived

Where is October, I hear those new Crow Fans ask? Well, look no further than the ABaHB Archives that date all the way back to 1996! We never thought it would last this long, Crow Fans, yet here we are. So, if you've got some time, enjoy the history lesson!

Barker Is the Choice

Visitors to ABaHB have been voting on whom they would like to see pen a Crow novel. With little doubt, Clive Barker came out head and shoulders above everyone else with 48% of the vote. Anne Rice was next with 15%. Stephen King and "None of the Above" tied for third with 14% each. rounding out the choices, Dean Koontz received 6% of the vote and John Saul 4%. Not sure if Clive would be open to a Crow novel, but it sure looks like fans would be at the stores purchasing it if he penned one.

Now, the new poll is up. We want to know, if the Crow 4 premise does go the novel route, which of the Harper/Prism novels would you like seen put to the big screen. So go on over to the poll and let us know. Thank you for again supporting our poll with over 400 votes. We appreciate you taking the time to do these polls.
