Wicked Prayer Update

Everything is moving ahead with the latest Crow movie. They had a delay due to some post production crew changes. That, coupled with the normal changes and cuts asked for by Miramax/Dimension, has made the post production phase extend longer than originally expected. The extended time has afforded the opportunity for the score to be worked on extensively and early reports are this will be one of the most powerful scores yet. We have not heard anything as far as if there will be a soundtrack album and honestly, we are not so sure there will be one this time around. We will have to wait and see on that. There is still no confirmation on the release, whether it will be direct to video or in theaters. We must remain patient and know that Lance and crew are working to make this a movie fans will be proud of.

The Crow: Lust To Dust Available Online

For those that wanted to know how they could see the full fan-made film “The Crow: Lust to Dust”, all you have to do is visit the new improved CrowCollCity here and you can see it. Along with this fan-made film, you can visit Torrid Productions and see about ordering the other fan-made film featured during the SF Crow convention, “The Crow: Purgatory”, which we reviewed earlier this month. Thanks to Mike Fatum for the heads up on this.

Michael Wincott Goes Gaming

ABaHB visitor Kiyan Warner alerted us to this little tid bit on our good friend Michael Wincott, aka Top Dollar from the first Crow film. “Fans of the late 80's arcade favorite NARC (Remember - Winners Don't Do Drugs. William S. Sessions) will be happy to hear Midway is planning an update. As is the norm in video games now, Midway has signed on a bunch of Hollywood talent to provide voices including Michael Madsen (just coming off of Kill Bill Vol. 2), Ron Perlman (The Hellboy himself), and Michael Wincott (best known for his roll as the Crow's nemesis in the original Crow movie). It's scheduled for release in early 2005 for both the PS2 and Xbox and you can read the full press release here ." Thanks to Kiyan for the information.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. It has been a busy summer so far for us and the world outside of The Crow and the internet have kept us busy. Look for updates to the fan fiction section this week.

Take care and thanks for your continued support.

The Crow: Purgatory

Last month, there was a Crow event to celebrate the 10 th anniversary of the first films released. It was held in San Francisco and was dubbed " SF Crow 2k4 ". James O'Barr participated in this event, which had him there signing items and doing original sketches. One of the highlights was the premiere of two fan inspired Crow films. We featured one of them already, " The Crow: From Lust to Dust ".  Now we highlight the other, " The Crow: Purgatory ".  We had the opportunity to few the first chapter of Purgatory. It is amazing how far fan inspired Crow films have come since David Ullman's effort in the late 90's. Purgatory is an original story set in the battle ground of the streets. Disciples, guardians of souls, are keeping watch over the city in search of demons which are there to steal souls away, never allowing them to be brought back by the crow. Purgatory, though obviously amateur in its production (to quote Desciple, they did the best they could with a "budget equal to the price of a #2 combo meal at Taco Bell") has a really cool concept. This isn't Shakespeare by any stretch, but it is a better than average attempt by fans to pay homage to the O'Barr creation. There is some really great camera work done. I was impressed with the locations used as well as the different styles of makeup. The area they shoot the film around has a real sense of surreal atmosphere to it.

It is great to see these kinds of productions put out by fans. With the lack of product from the mainstream, these very well could be the future of The Crow stories in the long run. Go check out the Torrid Production address given above and watch the trailer for both films and see about how you can purchase them.

Thanks to Desciple for allowing us the opportunity to view their fantastic film.

More Action Figures

It would seem that the Crow is a popular action figure item. Devlin O
