ABaHB News June 2001 According to word from numerous Mark Dacascos fan clubs, he is reported to have closed the door on doing a second season of the STH series, if it were ever to happen. He has stated that a one-time, made for TV movie to shore up the loose ends of the first season is something he would definitely do. He feels that closure is needed. With his current movie "Brotherhood Of The Wolf" doing very well in France and slated for a U.S. theatrical release in November, he has many other projects in the works. Committing to a one-time movie is more of an option than a full 22 episode series. It is time to move on. I can't be happier for Mark's successes, both professionally and personally since STH was canceled. I wish him all the luck in the world. I would hope since he does not wish to continue the Draven character, outside a one-time TV movie closure, there should be no attempts to continue STH with the Draven character. I am all for the series returning and following another character. But without Dacascos as Draven, I say let there series and Draven rest in peace. Thanks to Ponce for passing this information on through the Dacascos fan club channels. Take care.....amf LLcruize

Third film went straight to video, but there may be a chance for the franchise to continue. By: Steve Biodrowski Last year's second CROW sequel, THE CROW: SALVATION wound up going direct-to-video, leaving fans wondering whether the film franchise had run its course. But Edward M. Pressman Productions still considers the property a viable one, thanks to interest generated by the comics, books, and television series. `We're talking about turning one of our CROW novels into a movie, and we're talking to a name director about doing a female Crow,` said a source at the company. `This is a director who could attract name talent, and for some reason he happens to like THE CROW.` Whether this project gets off the ground or not, it seems likely that Rob Zombie's proposed THE CROW: 2087 will not be a future installment in the series, although the plot may be recycled as a stand-alone film separate from the CROW franchise. `We still might do that—just use the script,` said the source. `It would probably work better in animation, because there's a lot of weird stuff in it that would be hard to pull off unless you had a Tim Burton.` Thanks to: AssignementX and Comics 2 Film Four Crows... Syrecius sends along the actual date of the Salvation Australian video release which is the 26th! That makes it quite a large month in Crow goodies, with Hellbound and a video release, much more than previous months. It is new releases like these that can keep the Crow alive and kicking, so let's hope Salvation gets a lot of recognition in a video release.
Looking forward to some extra Crow items this month? Well, apart from Hellbound, it's looking a bit barren. So far there is no more merchandise slated to be released, but this can always change at the last minute. There is some release news (not merchandise) coming up very soon, so stay tuned! ISP Issues Sorry for yesterday's lapse in news, but we've had some problems with the ISP! Never fear, Crow Fans, things are fine and moving along well now.
A friend of ABaHB, Nuria, sent us an interview she did with the publisher of Peregrine Entertainment in regard to what O'Barr is up to. Peregrine is where O'Barr is doing some work at the moment. Please check out this interview, it is very informative. A very big thanks to Nuria for forwarding this to us. Take care.....amf
Anna Thomson portrayed Darla in The Crow Personal History Anna was born in the United States but grew up in France and studied in French schools until her 16th birthday. It is not known exactly where she was born, but she was found abandoned as a baby on a street in New York. She was adopted by a wealthy family and raised as an only child. Her adoptive parents were in the fashion industry. As a young child, Anna lived a life of solitude because she did not get along with other children and had no friends. She didn't do well at school so she became a ballet dancer in Paris. Anna was married for seven years. She has twin boys from that marriage. Her husband is now deceased. Anna's maiden name was Anna Levine. After her marriage she took the name Anna Thomson. Professional History American actress Anna Thomson made her theatre debut in 1975. There she met Christopher Walken, who would later become her "mentor" in the world of cinema. Her first onscreen appearance was in La porte du paradis by Michael Cimino in 1980. After filming "Unforgiven by Clint Eastwood in 1992, Anna stopped working for a few years due to the death of her husband. Anna is best known for her appearances in two of Alex Kolleck's films: 1998's FIONA and 1997's SUE. In 1997, her performance in the title role of Amos Kollek's Sue Lost in Manhattan was an enormous critical success and earned her the fascinated acknowledgement of countless film-lovers. She received a special acting award at the Montreal festival for her portrayal of Sue in Sue. She has gone on to shoot two additional films with Amos Kollek, ``Anna is quirky and unusual and she fits with New York. She's individualistic and doesn't try to fit into a formula. And she's wonderful to work with,'' said Kollek in an interview with Reuters. Over the past 20 years Miss Thomson has appeared in over 40 feature films, from American independents to Hollywood blockbusters. Her latest film is "Gouttes of Water on Extreme Stone (2000) a François Ozon film. She plays the role of a man who becomes woman. Where is she now Anna now lives in New York with her twin sons. This comes from the pen of Amazon.com: "Ademon named Dren is looking for salvation. Satan's fiery underworld has become a foreign place to him. He feels he is different from the other souls. He's changed over time. He's ready for redemption. But getting out of hell is no easy task. Escaping was the easy part. But now, alone in a world unfamiliar to him, Dren must save a single soul in order to pass on to the heavens above. Billy is a young hoodlum working for a big-time mobster. Like Dren he has also changed. He wants out of the seedy underworld he calls his home. Just, one more run, one more big payday, and he's finished with it all. He'll, get his cash, grab the woman he loves, and be gone forever. But the mob doesn't look kindly on deserters. Satan has sent two rogue demons from hell to stop Dren. The mob has hired a conjurer named Nadja to kill Billy. In the end, the two must call on the powers of the Crow to, save them both -- waging a full-scale war on the mobsters of Earth above and the lord of darkness below."

Wow, it's been a year already. What a strange path our site has gone down. We have gone from holding a contest to promote The Crow: The Story Behind The Film, to setting up a booth for The Crow: Salvation Spokane test run, to boycotting Miramax for screwing over the fans, to helping Miramax promote The Crow DVD Box Set, and now we are going to launch version 2.5 of the site. We have changed things around a bit this time, including new logos, updated color scheme, moved some sections around, and other minor tweaks. The changes aren't as drastic as the conversion Version 1 to Version 2 went. For those who are members of CrowFans.com will notice a new control panel with plenty of new features. New login screen, ability to delete your old artwork, add a remembrance article, favorite links column added, ability to add your ICQ number, and much more. So if you're a member you should login and update your profile. Remembrance is one of our new sections, in which fans like yourself will submit your story on how you became a fan of The Crow. This section will take a while to grow as more articles from the fans come on, but I am sure you guys will find it a good read. The Q&A with Jeff Most is a section for the fans to ask questions to Jeff Most who is the film and soundtrack producer of The Crow franchise. If you have a question for Jeff Most just send an email to support@crowfans.com . These questions may be used for a future audio interview with Jeff Most. We have also added two minor sections, a Press Release type section, and a Miscellaneous section. The Miscellaneous section contains David Schow's fangoria article, and our report on The Spokane Test Run; we will eventually throw interviews there. On top of adding new sections we have added to or overhauled sections. Crow Links has been changed completely, we will no longer judge sites, and we will just list sites in specific categories. Here is a brief list of the updates we have done for V2.5. - Added 30 more pictures to choose from for Devil's Night Greeting Cards, including more City of Angels, Salvation, and crow fan artwork. - Added another hour of programming to The Pit Jukebox. - Added four more issues to the newsletter archive. - Updated Arcade Games, and added a wallpaper section to it. - Added new screen shots of The Crow DVD Box Set - Added the July events to the Crow Events section. - Changed a few icons around The Crow Fans Discussion Forum There are some more updates that coming along the way, including a major update to the guides that found on the front page, the store is set for an overhaul in the near future. We will start working on Version 3 in the near future, which is due around Halloween. Just a reminder our contest for The Crow DVD Box Set is still going on till June 30, 2001 at 11:59 PST.
