ABaHB News July 2004 We received this report from Concave_scream:
Hello, We thank CS for the update. Make sure to head out to your local Spencer's and Hot Topic to pick up the latest figure. We are hearing nothing but good things about it. Take care....
Fans of The Crow are known for collecting many things from the movie. This latest item, depending on your point of view, is one of high money and morbid value. This collector claims to have THE leather coat Brandon was wearing the night he was shot back in 1993. The person offering the coat has a high rating on eBay. If you have the money and interest in this item, it is available for the bidding right now. Minimum bid is $3,000.00 . Take care....
There has been some dismay over the new T's offered by NECA through Hot Topic. Some fans have been upset about the new T's coming in female sizes only or that the T's do not feature Eric. NECA is trying their best to offer a variety of distinct items for fans. Patience and understanding by the fan base will need to be in large supply. We have to remember, three or four years ago we didn't have half the merchandise choices available to us that we have today. They are working hard to meet fan demands, but as the saying goes, you can't please everyone. For those looking for new, normal adult sized T's offered by NECA, 80's Tees has 4 to choose from . Give them a look. Again, we ask that you have patience and understanding. There are more great things to come this year from all the Crow merchandisers. Keep up with us for the latest on all the goods. Take care......
We have sent the first edition of the "Murder Of Crows" newsletter under our guidance. Use it, a long Hot Topic/NECA Update Hot Topic has just posted 4 new shirts from NECA on their website for sale. These designs are all
With the recent retirement of Frank over at Crowfans, he farmed out some of his responsibilities. One of those, the Murder of Crows newsletter, has been handed over to us. We appreciate the confidence that Frank has in us to take on this responsibility and will do our utmost to take the newsletter to the next level. We are going to use the newsletter as a way to bring the Crow online community closer together. It will be used for merchandise promotions and contests ( we have a new one from Dragon Fly to announced in next week's edition), as well as feature the active Crow community sites and their special contributions. We hope that through the newsletter, more fans can be reached and informed of what is going on with the franchise. We look forward to this opportunity to reach out to many fans on a weekly basis and thank Frank for all his years of service and support of ABaHB. Take care......
According to Variety, Edward Furlong (Jimmy Cuervo in "The Crow: Wicked Prayer") a long with Susan Ward (Shallow Hal) and Jaime Pressley (Torque) will star in "Cruel World" for Maverick Films and Primetime Pictures. The film follows a scorned reality TV show runner-up who traps nine college students on his own fictitious show in which getting voted off costs them their lives. Shooting is taking place in Albuquerque , N.M. Primetime principal Kelsey Howard ( Scorched ) is directing the picture from a script by Paul T. Murray and Eugene Hess. Rounding out the cast of tormented college students are Andrew Keegan ( O ), Sanoe Lake ( Blue Crush ) and Nicole Bilderback ( Bring It On ). This update was posted on ComingSoon. Take care.....
If you have found it hard to get CrowFansOnline to respond to emails or requests, word is they are in a
Alex Proyas was recently interviewed for his new film, "I, Robot". Give it a look. There are no Crow mentions, though lots of Dark City mentions. You can find the interview over at Dark Horizons . Wicked Prayer Mentioned In IrelandOn-Line Article Our good friend Gabi passed on this link over at the ChambeRoom. It speaks of the London-based distributor ContentFilm and their slate of films coming up to be distributed; of which one is The Crow: Wicked Prayer. Here is the section that speaks directly to Wicked Prayer: "This financial year it expects to release three feature films, including Wicked Prayer, the fourth installment of franchise The Crow, which originally starred Brandon Lee in 1994. " Take note that "financial year" does not follow the normal January to December calendar. Not knowing for sure, but usually, a "business" financial year runs March to March. Also, those in the U.S. are probably wondering why ContentFilm, not Miramax/Dimension, is distributing the film overseas. They (Miramax/Dimension) only hold the U.S. distribution rights. The overseas distribution rights are handled by other distributors. Thanks to Gabi for the heads up on this.
Our good friend Nicolas Navarro sends this along via Star Magazine and Yahoo News: THE TERMINATOR'S EDDIE FURLONG - ONCE SO CUTE... WHAT WENT WRONG? The high-speed lifestyle seems to have taken its toll on Furlong, now only 26, who was almost unrecognizable at a Hollywood event earlier this year. "It was shocking how much weight he has gained," a guest at the Perfect 10 magazine fashion show in April tells Star . "No one knew it was Eddie until photographers started calling his name. He has ballooned up. You can see it on his face. He looked sloppy." THE LONG ROAD TO RECOVERYFurlong has reportedly struggled with drugs and alcohol in the past, with his addictions finally leading to a month-long stint in Promises Treatment Center Malibu in 2000. Eddie reportedly lost the chance to star in Terminator 3 because of his substanceabuse problems. And recently, a guest at the Perfect 10 party remarked that Furlong looked "out of it." Eddie was arrested in 2001 for drunk driving after rear-ending another car. He was engaged to Jacqueline Domac, who was 31 at the time in 1996, but the couple split in 1998. Domac alleged in a lawsuit that Furlong abused her. He's since been linked with actress Natasha Lyonne and Paris Hilton . A SECOND CHANCE?Lately, Eddie has been trying to revive his long-suffering acting career. His next two projects pair him up with two notorious Hollywood hell-raisers, the hard-partying Tara Reid , who stars with him in this year's Wicked Prayer , and badboy Brad Renfro , who pairs up with Eddie in Riders on the Storm , now in production. Whether he'll be able to stay out of trouble to resurrect his career -- and his life -- remains to be seen. -- PETER DAVIS & MAGGIE KIM

New Fan Site "The Crow: Shadow of a Shadow" Adds Forum & Updates We reported a while back that a new Crow fan called The Crow: Shadow of a Shadow , had joined the flock. We have heard back from Arch-Angel that the site has been updated with many new items to include The Crow: Shadow of a Shadow Message Boards as well as an article section and more. Good to see the online community coming to life for the Crow. Go give the site a look. Thanks to Arch Angel for the heads up. Take care......
According to the UK edition of Kerrang! magazine, UK audiences should expect to see Wicked Prayer some time in 2005. The small article makes no mention of a specific date unfortunately. We have a copy of the article sent to us by our good friend Vermin from the UK. The article is at the bottom of this picture from the mag.
We reported yesterday that the current U.S. release date (August 5 th or 6 th depending on what site you visit) for Wicked Prayer posted on IMDB and other sites was incorrect due to the film still being in the "editing" process. We have more specific information today. The film is currently at the optical house for completion of the special effects. The effects will not be completed for an August release. Once the effects are completed, a more precise release schedule will be known. But it for sure it will not be August 5th or 6th. Take care......
Frank from CrowFans let us know there has finally been a DVD release date given to the third Crow movie, "The Crow: Salvation", for our good friends in the UK. The release date is August 30th, 2004. Here is a link Frank provided for Amazon. This is great news for our UK friends. This has long been one of the most frequently asked questions by our UK visitors to the site. The wait will soon be over.
We have received a flood of inquiries about the U.S. release date on IMDB http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0353324/releaseinfo .
The official Crow website is back with a major new, stripped down look (as we had reported some time ago that it would). Right now, there is not much listed on it. There is a front page which has a promotion for the new NECA double pack Eric Draven figure and 12 inch figure. There is also a small promotion for Wicked Prayer. The site has 5 sections; Multimedia (which displays some rare photos and the Skull Cowboy footage), Movies (not yet populated with anything), Behind The Scenes (not yet populated with anything), Shop (not yet populated with anything) and a Links section, which has a few links to NECA's site, a couple of Crow fan sites are mentioned (active sites such as ABaHB, ChambeRoom and CrowColl are NOT listed, guess we are just too non-commercial for our own good) and a few other merchandise sites. Go give it a look. In the coming months, all the sections will be populated and this is where we will probably start seeing our first official photos from Wicked Prayer. Take care....
Found this information over at ComingSoon.com in regard to Jurassic 4:
"Sam Neill is not returning for this movie but Jeff Goldblum and Richard Attenborough are. The rumors that scenes have already been filmed are false. There is not even a director signed to the project yet. However, I hear one may be a man by the name of Alex Proyas. I think he made the Crow several years ago. He's still in discussion. " Interesting news, if it pans out. To see the full article, click here. Take care...... |
