Tara Reid Talks The Crow: Wicked Prayer (briefly)
JoBlo's Arrow in the Head recently spoke with Tara Reid via a phone
interview for her new movie "Alone In The Dark". The topic of "The Crow:
Wicked Prayer" came up and this is what she had to say:

Lets side step to another project you bagged a while back: The Crow Wicked
Prayer. I'm really looking forward to that one...

Again, it's a film I really enjoyed making, it has a good story, its well
written, its very well acted and I like it a lot.

Do you have any insight as to when it will be released?

I just did the looping on it and they're putting the music to it now. I
think Miramax and Dimension were having legal problems, they just ended it
and I think the film will come out very soon, in the next couple of months
or so.

When are we going to see you next?

Apart from Wicked Prayer, I have another one coming out called Silent
Partner and then I'm working on a TV show in February.

Thanks to Chuck for sending us this link. As you can see from the answers
she gave, they back up what you have been reading here at ABaHB about the
film's progress and all the stuff going on behind the scenes with
Miramax/Dimension. To see the full interview go here and check it out:

Thanks again Chuck for the heads up.

Take care....

Disney & Miramax Closer To Split Agreement
We were alerted to this report on MSNBC by Frank. It speaks to the fractured relationship between Disney and Miramax, who as we all know, holds the distribution rights to The Crow. As was reported by us a few months back, Miramax is looking for help in distributing their lower earning genre franchises from Dimension Films such as The Crow, Hellraiser, Prophecy, etc. We are not sure what this reports means in the big scheme of things as far as distribution of The Crow, but obviously, the quicker this mess with Disney is resolved, the quicker things will be turned out at Miramax/Dimension.

NEW YORK - Walt Disney Co. and its Miramax Films unit have moved significantly closer in recent days to severing their fractious relationship, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing sources familiar with the negotiations.

According to a report on the newspaper's Web site, several sources said a meeting of key players Wednesday night at Disney's Burbank headquarters seemed to represent a turning point in the talks, with emotions lowered and expectations heightened that a resolution was near.

Another meeting was scheduled for Thursday night, according to the article. The sources cautioned the newspaper that negotiations could drag on, and two months ago a seemingly close deal collapsed.

Disney and the chiefs of its Miramax Films unit, Bob and Harvey Weinstein, have been at odds for months as the brothers' goal of expanding movie productions and budgets has collided with Disney's cost conscious aim of returning Miramax to its low-budget and foreign film distribution roots.

The newspaper said sources on both sides said agreement had been reached on several crucial issues, with Disney agreeing in principle to pay Harvey and Bob Weinstein more than $100 million in compensation.

The report said Disney and Miramax would not comment.

Thanks for the heads up Frank.

Take care…..

Crowgrrl's Perch Interview With James O'Barr

Athena, aka Crowgrrl, sent us over a link to an interview she conducted with James O 'Barr at the Perch. Some really cool information shared. For the first time on the net,
James discusses in detail his thoughts on the Crow TV series as well as other projects in the Crow world. It is a really good interview; Athena did a fantastic job discussing new subjects. Give it a look.

Huge thanks to Athena

Take care.....

The Crow: Wicked Prayer Composer Site Launched
The composer for the latest Crow movie, Jamie Christopherson, launched his official site mid December of last year. It is http://www.jamiechristopherson.com/index2.html . Go and give it a look. He discusses a little bit about the scoring of The Crow: Wicked Prayer (look under “current projects” heading). Also, you can read how his wife was involved with the score in the “About Jamie” section. She is mentioned towards the end of the section. Those that have purchased and/or are familiar with the popular Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth, he scored that game (has several film, TV, game & documentary credits) .

A large thanks to Chuck for once again scouring the net and finding us fans more information on the Wicked Prayer production/post-production.

Take care……

Year End ABaHB Review 2004 Edition
It is that time again. For us here at ABaHB to stop and take a look at where we have been, where we currently are and where we will be going in the Crow world.

Before going into the trivial stuff of where our beloved franchise is, I wanted to take this time to offer our condolences and prayers to all of the families that have been touched either directly or indirectly by the devastating earthquake & tsunamis that hit East Africa and South Asia. We are reminded of the true power of this world we live in. For those that want to help, there are many disaster relief funds that have been set up via the web:

Network for Good

The above link will take you to a page that has every single link that you can think of for helping to provide money, etc, for victims. Those of you that are members of churches or other organizations, check with them for other more hands-on ways you can help in this time of need.

2004…….what a year. It was a year like no other that I can remember since Irony and I started working together on ABaHB back in 1996. Though one of our jobs is to help separate the B.S. from the legit information, I can’t remember a time previously that so much of my energy and time had to be spent debunking false reports from so called reliable sites. The hunger for being the fastest with information on the net has created an ugly monster. But that is an article and soapbox for another time and place.

Where does the Crow stand at the end of 2004 and the beginning of 2005?

Merchandise
NECA along with Hot Topic continue to put out plenty of items to keep the masses happy. However, sooner or later they are going to run out of things to put Brandon’s image on. I hope at some point they expand their line of products to be inclusive of all the films in the franchise, though their early communication to fans said they would only concentrate on the Brandon starring movie. To my knowledge, there are no new merchandisers coming forward in 2005. So we will have to see what NECA and Dynamic Forces have to offer in the coming months. The Flesh & Blood TPB was re-released this past year, perhaps we may see more of that occurring in 2005 for fans that missed out on the early Kitchen Sink Press comics.

Movies
We continue to wait for The Crow: Wicked Prayer. Official word came down from Miramax that The Crow: Wicked Prayer would be a direct to video title. When it will be released is still not known due to financial problems. Miramax/Dimension is trying to find partners to help with the distribution. The Crow: Wicked Prayer has been the source of the most inaccurate reporting on the net this year; from inaccurate reasons behind the direct to video decision, release dates and even its name. Let the record show that The Crow: Wicked Prayer (which is what it has been and will always be called) was always been destined to be a direct to video release and it is not because of quality but because of the strength that the Crow titles have in the direct to video market. Any other site reporting otherwise is reporting hearsay and opinion, not fact. There have been all kinds of release dates reported on the net and none have turned out to be accurate. The only accurate statement that can be made about a release date for The Crow: Wicked Prayer is that no one knows exactly when it will be released pending the distribution partnership deal that Miramax/Dimension is seeking.

Suffice to say we hope to see The Crow: Wicked Prayer this year. The film was delivered to Miramax/Dimension end of 2004 and once they have cleared the film for release and have a distribution partner, we will see it. To see everything reported on The Crow: Wicked Prayer check out our Wicked Prayer section.

I continue to stand behind my reviews of the script and the trailer, as well as some other inside information, that the film will deliver the goods to the fans.

Online Community
The online Crow community has changed a lot over the last year. More sites dropped out of the game and others have changed locations and names. We are moving to a more centralized online community so that we can better combine our efforts. With the lack of any official backing from Pressman Films or Miramax/Dimension, it is up to the unofficial web sites to keep the Crow alive on the net. The official site returned with a new, stripped down design earlier in the year. Since its reappearance, there has only been one update to it and that was an addition of a merchandise link.

Crowfans has officially shut down and that leaves only a few of us still active in the game. Crowfanclub underwent a name and domain change and is now the Crowfansonline. Matt is still heading things up. With the demise of Crowfans we at ABaHB had to find a new domain to reside on. David Jeffers stepped up and offered us a place to land and we owe a big amount of gratitude to him for his gracious offer. Irony put in some serious hours and created a new look for ABaHB and here we stand today more alive than we ever have been. David’s community, Crowcoll, will be going through some changes as well. The hope is that we, Crowfansonline, David’s posse and the ChambeRoom can work together to make a more centralized and stronger online community. It has long been a vision of mine to have a community that was on the level of a Star Wars or LOtR community and I think we can do that with a concentrated effort from all those I have mentioned.

The Future
It is going to be through fans such as David Jeffers that the Crow online community will be carried on into the future. My retirement will be coming up soon from the online community. Though I do not plan to retire any time this year, come 2006, I will be seriously contemplating when the right time to step away will be. That decision is made easier knowing there are fans out there like David who could take over what I have worked so hard to build the last 10 years. Irony and I have put in countless hours for the sake of nothing more than the love of this franchise and the people we have met while doing it. When I leave the Crow online community, I want to walk away knowing if I never logged on again to a computer, the online community that I was a part of would still be alive and well 10 years from now.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your support and assistance through out the last 9 years. As we head into our 10th year of operating ABaHB I want to let you know we at ABaHB will continue to do our best in reporting everything that is Crow related. I don’t have to tell you that the news has been lean this year. I don’t know what 2005 will have in store. Many of our sources have moved on to other things in the industry so we will be relying more and more on those persons we have created relationships through the years for information on what is happening throughout all the medias within the Crow.

Of course, as always, a huge thanks you and pat on the back to my partner in crime, Irony. Man, I don’t know how the hell we have gotten through 9 years together on separate parts of the world. But we have made this thing work and I might say, work as well as any team could given we have thousands of miles of land and ocean between us. You have come to be a trusted friend and I appreciate everything you do and continue to do for the shear love of doing a great job.

Here is thanks again for a great 2004 and hope that 2005 will see a resurgent of the Crow as a viable and vital force.
