Loads of Crow Related Information
Our good friend David J from CrowColl passed on some information to us that is worth repeating to everyone. First up, the Pressman website has recently been revamped to include a new synopsis for Wicked Prayer. You will notice that Lazarus is still classified as a "work in progress" project. So there is no confusion, yes, it is still in the works, but it is NOT in the works as a Crow project. It is a joint Pressman/Most production in association with Warner Bros. David asked if the revamping of the Pressman site meant we would see thecrow.com come back up soon. We don't know , but will try and find out.
David J also passed on that over at Crowcoll they have posted up a script by Birdmad Girl based on the Crow graphic novel. Give their Crowcollcity a visit and read the script as well as the other works they have there. Also, Birdman Girl passed on that there is a 10th Anniversary celebration being put together in San Francisco for The Crow. Go visit Torridproductions for all the details on this. Sounds like a fantastic opportunity for folks on the west coast. Maybe more celebrations like this will break out in the central and eastern states and around the world.
Thanks to David J for the heads up on all this.
EDITORS NOTE. Wanted to be sure and give a shout out to Neo, Dustin, Jon, Pat, Virg, Usoldier, ClownSmack & splitpea (love that nick man!!) for the heads up on the Universal Soldier direct to video info. If anyone else can think of another movie franchise that pulled off a return to theatrical releases after going direct to video, let us know.

Wicked Prayer Items to be Auctioned This Summer
Frequent visitor and news contributor Chuck has passed on some VERY interesting news in regard to Wicked Prayer. He emailed premiereprops to see if they had any Crow items that would be offered in the coming months, specifically Wicked Prayer, this is the response he received:
"Actually we are planning to host an auction for the next Crow film this summer when the film is released. Please check back often for updates."
The release information they give coincides with the theatrical release timeframe information we have received from other sources. Though not an iron-clad theatrical release guarantee by no means, this does offer more validation that the film will indeed see a theatrical release. Premiereprops is definitely worth checking back with closer to the summer timeframe to see when the auction for Wicked Prayer items will be going on.
Thanks to Chuck for passing this information on.

Wicked Prayer Synopsis
We've just updated our synopsis of Wicked Prayer to give you a little taste on what to expect:
"Set in the American southwest, WICKED PRAYER tells the story of ex-con and social outcast Jimmy Cuervo. Despised by most of the local community, Jimmy plans to leave town once his probation is up and take his true love, Lily "Ignites the Dawn", with him. Those plans are altered when Luc Crash and Lola Byrne, leaders of a local satanic gang known as the "Four Horseman of the Apocalypse", murder Lily for her blue eyes to consummate a ritual which will turn Luc into the devil reincarnated. Jimmy, murdered a long side Lily, returns from the afterlife as an immortal vigilante to exact revenge upon the Four Horseman. To be reunited with Lily, he must face the devil himself in order to stop the evil plans of Luc and Lola. Saving the love he and Lily shared also means Jimmy will also save the town that has shunned him, an ironic twist of fate that he must resolve to be reunited with Lily.
Jimmy Cuervo (Edward Furlong) - Jimmy is an altered version of Dan Cody from the novel. He has a totally different back-story. Jimmy is an ex-con, 23-years-old (one of the few "white men" in the town), currently working as a self-employed mechanic."

Mabius and Kirshner Star in New Series
Eric Mabius (Alex Corvis from The Crow: Salvation) and Mia Kirshner (Sarah from The Crow: City of Angels) play lovers in a new Showtime series that starts this Sunday evening called The "L" Word. The series is receiving some great reviews from the likes of the NY Daily News. We have a JPG from Eric that gives you a look at the cast. He also adds a reminder that this is a very mature in tone series. Give it a look, it sounds like it may be the next big premium channel hit.

Wicked Prayer Update
We have a follow up to our news last week in regard to Wicked Prayer. First off, let us repeat that according to the production staff of the film, it is going to be a theatrical release. The reports of a direct to video release was either information based on what happened with Salvation, or just a guess by the Dimension rep that reported it.
We were contacted today by a frequent visitor of our site, Azrael, who had some news to back up the claims of the Wicked Prayer production staff that the film is indeed scheduled to hit theaters. Azrael's girlfriend works at a local theater. Her boss is a huge fan of The Crow. When Azrael informed him of the news we reported last week, the theater manager contacted his local regional manager to get confirmation. According to the regional manager, they were under the impression that Wicked Prayer was still intended to be a theatrically released film. The regional manager, to make sure, contacted Dimension Films. He was told by Dimension that the film is indeed scheduled for a theatrical release and for us to look for it hitting theaters late summer/early fall.
This is great news and confirms what we have been told by the production staff. I made a comment last week that no film franchise has gone direct to video and then back to theatrical release. Actually, there has been a franchise that did this, and did it recently. Universal Soldier started out with a theatrical release. Then the second film went directly to TV/video. The third film returned to theaters a few years back, with Van Damme and Goldberg starring. So this goes to prove that film franchises can return to the theater after going direct to video. All indications are that this will happen with the Crow franchise. Keep checking our news for the latest on this.
Thanks to Azrael for sharing this great news with us.
Take care......

Wicked Prayer Update
Wingsburntblack, a member of the Crow forum Crowcoll, is a manager of a local theater. Their boss contacted Dimension Films recently about possibly ordering some teaser posters for Wicked Prayer. Wing's manager was told by the Dimension rep that there were no theatrical teaser poster to be had because the film is going to be a direct to video/DVD release.
After learning of this, we contacted our sources from the film to confirm this decision. They were not aware that this decision had been made, if indeed it has been made. Our source said the film has not yet been delivered to Dimension (as we have reported here before). For the folks at Dimension to make this decision without seeing the film is highly unlikely. They feel perhaps this Dimension rep was basing their information on Salvation having been a direct to video release, not from having inside information from those in charge of making this decision. We have asked Wings to do some follow up. Whatever they can find out, we will be sure to pass on.
As we have reported before, everyone involved with the Wicked Prayer production have been given nothing but encouraging signs from Dimension in regard to it being a theatrical release. I have personally been cautiously optimistic about this since there are no film franchises that I know of which have gone to video releases and then gone back to theatrical releases. I trust my sources are confident in their feeling Dimension still plans on a theatrical release, we will just have to see what time tells us. It is a point to remember, last time around, Dimension's decision to go direct to video was not communicated to the production staff until late in the game.
Those that were around for Salvation know how much of a tennis match that was in regard to information on theatrical vs. direct to video release. It seemed like for a while there every day a new decision was made. We are going to continue to follow up on this and will do our best to give you the most current information we have.
Thanks to Wings for the update and look forward to hearing from you again.
Take care....

Update on STP Song
We had many fans ask where they could get the original Crow soundtrack STP song, "Only Dying" we reported about the other day. ABaHB visitor Jesse Garcia has pointed us in the direction of one site that has the song for download:

Big thanks to Jesse for passing this on to all of us.

STP Song on Crow Soundtrack Alternate Choice
Chris Freytag sent us this information in regard to the first Crow soundtrack that was released in 1994. Many fans may be aware of this, but for those that are not, this is a really cool piece of trivia. Thanks to Chris for passing this on:
"A while back I stumbled across a song that was intended to be placed on the 1994 soundtrack to THE CROW. Stone Temple Pilots created a song billed as 'Only Dying', that would of complimented the soundtrack next to it's metal acts. Lyrically the song matched the film's plot almost perfectly, and the music only made it that much better. Yet due to the tragic accident surrounding the movie during filming, (star Brandon Lee being shot) the song was snipped. Apparently producers felt the song's lyrics were too eerie and ironic. With the very short period of time remaining, STP was only able to submit one of their other songs - 'Big Empty' which inevitably appeared on the soundtrack. As for 'Only Dying', the band later took it apart instead of releasing it, used favored pieces of it in future songs. The actual song, however, is still floating around today and it's a very good piece."
Thanks again to Chris for this. As far as where you can find the song, try checking for it on most music swapping sites.
Take care.....
