New Crow Episode Info
Episode for week 2/22: NEVER SAY DIE

Written by: David Ransil & Edward Tivnan
Directed by: Scott Summersgill

Log Line: The evil spirit of Rasputin is released by an unscrupulous Russian who plans to harness it for his own empowerment but needs access to the portal between the worlds that Draven opened in his loft to make the process complete.
An ancient order of Russian priests is the keeper of a manuscript that holds the evil predictions of the mad monk Rasputin. When the chief guardian, Father Andrew (Stephen Dimopoulos), is brutally murdered and the book stolen, the priests turn to the police for help. Albrecht, now demoted to a street cop, steps aside so Capshaw can take the case but she is highly skeptical of the tale of evil powers, spirit transference and a fearsome prophecy that seems to be coming true. While visiting her Mom at the police station Sarah overhears the story and hurries to warn Draven that whoever stole the manuscript will need access to the portal between worlds, which is in Draven¹s loft. Alexander Sokolov (David Lovgren), who has the manuscript and intends to use it to harness untold evil power, comes to the loft but is deterred by Draven, who then tips Albrecht off to what is going on. Draven catches up with Sokolov at the waterfront but as part of the fulfillment of the prophecy, is trapped in a net, chained with weights and dropped off the pier. Albrecht and Capshaw arrive, but Capshaw is shot. The Crow emerges from the icy waters to pursue the fleeing Sokolov. They clash at the loft, where the portal is already open, allowing Rasputin to return in Sokolov¹s body. Their battle carries them through the portal, back to 1918, where Rasputin¹s resurrected spirit is finally defeated forever.

Crow Salvation Soundtrack News!

This from Eve, who has a cousin working on The Crow: Salvation soundtrack...

"The crow: salvation soundtrack is not going to be like heavyheavy heavy rock like the first two other crow soundtrack and that the score is going to have the same spritual thing going on but not alot of "arabic" voicing! The salvation soundtrack will have rock in it, but will also have different music elements like industrial too! My cousin is working on the salvation soundtrack as he speaks.

Your letters will reach Ed Pressman, so write away! Tell me what you think of this idea by mailing to me HERE!

Good news for Crow fans everywhere. I've been saying from the start that STH was renewed, but here it is, official!

CROW TV RENEWAL

The syndicated television series The Crow: Stairway to Heaven has been renewed for a second season. Stars Mark Dacascos, who plays Eric Draven, and Marc Gomes, who plays Detective Albrecht, will both be returning.

In an interview earlier this year, Gomes told The Continuum he was looking forward to a second season of the series, which is based on James O'Barr's comic-book characters.

"With network shows, you don't know if you're going to get past six or past 13," Gomes said. "But the real payoff is the next season. It's the indication that things are going well, that people are watching the show. That's what you work for. The payoff is the second and third seasons, and perhaps, if you're fortunate, the fourth and fifth seasons. Really, if you're fortunate, the second season, because TV is so competitive."

After the "Never Say Die" episode completes the February sweeps period, look for five repeat episodes of The Crow: Stairway to Heaven in March.

Episodes include "Give Me Death" for the week of March 1, "Before I Wake" for the week of March 8, "Death Wish" for the week of March 15, "Through A Dark Circle" for the week of March 22 and "Disclosure" for the week of March 29.

Image Crow = Big Seller!

Well, the ever faithful Image Crow comic has been a big success! Most comic stores reporting a large sell out of the Todd McFarlane covered issue, but a big sales boost for the regular cover. It can only get bigger from here folks...

The Crow Comic itself made good use of colour, as it was a very watered down, dark world. Jon J. Muth pays credit to the original comic and J.O'Barr in the afterward of the issue. The series will be Eric Draven as the title character. For more info on the comic, have a look around this News Page and the older news for reviews and pics!

Interviews and Other Cool Stuff

There is going to be some big interviews from Brandon Lee and Mark Dacascos coming up soon. These interviews are very rare and cannot be missed!

Crow 3 Script

Rumours have flown in about various Crow: Salvation script re-writes. Hopefully, I'll be getting my hands on the final revision soon.

Cruel Intentions

As a side note, Eric Mabius' new movie Cruel Intentions opens in theatres on March 5th, playing Greg McConnell. The movie also stars Sarah Michelle-Gellar. Here's a totally irrelevant review of the movie:

"Ryan Phillippe and Sarah Michelle Gellar play bickering step-siblings who, together, quietly control much of the social lives of the students in an affluent NY prep school. Phillippe's Sebastian sees himself as a kind of Don Juan, who always gets his woman, while Gellar's Katherine would rather enact revenge on ex-flames and corrupt incoming freshmen. One day, Katherine and Sebastian, driven by a mutual lust for each other and a love of messing with innocent young people's lives, hatch a nefarious plan, and place a kind of bet. Sebastian is to woo and bed the daughter of the new headmaster (Reece Witherspoon, playing a very adamant virgin with plans to only "wait until marriage"), and if he is able to accomplish this seemingly impossible task, he can have his way with Gellar - the one woman whom he KNOWS he can not have. If he is unable to seduce the ice queen, however, Katherine gets his classic Porsche."

New Episode of The Crow: Stairway to Heaven

Episode for week 2/15: BIRDS OF A FEATHER

Written by: Bryce Zabel
Directed by: Alan Simmonds

Log Line: In shocking turn of events Draven is set free by Judge Morrison but life on the outside is still bleak. Albrecht has been demoted to a beat cop and Draven feels terribly alone without Shelly until he meets another Spirit Crow.

Citing that the jury ignored his instructions, Judge Morrison overturns Draven¹s conviction and sets him free in a dramatic reversal of fortune. But a cloud of suspicion still hangs over Draven, and, because of his association with Albrecht, over Albrecht as well. Their friendship is strained, and Albrecht¹s girlfriend Cordelia, leaves him too. Adding insult to injury, Albrecht is demoted to beat cop and Capshaw assumes his desk in the detective division. Treated as a pariah by the public at the Blackout, Draven goes outside where he sees a woman demolish two strong attackers in an alley fight. To his shock, Draven discovers that, she, too, is a Crow. He befriends the angry, confused woman and helps her learn the truth about her former life. She was a happily married, successful doctor, Hannah Foster (Bobbie Phillips), who along with her young daughter, was kidnapped by a colleague and left to die a horrible death. She has come back as Talon, a female Crow, but doesn¹t understand that her newly found powers cannot be used for revenge without unleashing something more terrible. Evenly matched in strength and force, Draven cannot stop her from killing her murder, Slaughter (Mackenzie Grey), turning him into evil incarnate as a supernatural snake. The Crow saves Talon from destruction at the hands of the snake, but Talon learns that there is no escaping the terrible sadness that brought her back to earth.

WGN Forgets The Crow STH

Here's a report from Richard Wilson about the STH series...

"WGN are skipping the "Birds Of A Feather " episode which shows why Eric is released from jail and shows the female Crow. They are instead showing the episode that is suppose to air the next weekend, which is "Never Say Die". I have emailed WGN and complained bigtime, but I need alot of folks to send them email to get the episode aired at sometime. We won't be able to get them to change this weekends episode, but it looks like they are just going to skip it all together and that is major B.S.!!! I know that there are some folks in other syndicated markets that have gotten to see the "Birds" episode, and it makes no sense why WGN would skip it. "

New Crow Episode

"Never Say Die," a new episode of The Crow: Stairway to Heaven television series, will air in syndication this week.

Here's how the episode is described:

"Albrecht, now demoted to a street cop, steps aside so Capshaw can take the case, but she is highly skeptical of the tale of evil powers, spirit transference and a fearsome prophecy that seems to be coming true.

Well, with Crow News from 1997 - 1999, it's a very safe statement to say that ABaHB has the best and largest Crow database of Crow News on the net! Check out the old news sections for some great old news and little Crow tidbits from over the years, it really is something!

First Look The Crow #4

The Crow #4 will ship in May from Image Comics and Todd McFarlane Entertainment. The issue was written by Jon J Muth, with art by Tommy Lee Edwards and a cover by Kent Williams.

Here's how Image describes the issue:

The Crow #4 will ship in May from Image Comics and Todd McFarlane Entertainment. The issue was written by Jon J Muth, with art by Tommy Lee Edwards and a cover by Kent Williams.

Here's how Image describes the issue:

"Now that Eric Draven has avenged his death, why is he still The Crow? 'The Line Between the Devil's Teeth' begins to explore that question as The Crow finds himself involved in the life of his young friend, Sarah, and her family. This stand-alone story also introduces a major new villain into The Crow mythos -- Sin, a woman even more evil than her name implies."

The Crow #4 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.50.

It's not known yet if there will be a comic adaptation of the upcoming movie The Crow: Salvation, which begins shooting soon in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. Ted Adams of Todd McFarlane Entertainment said the current Crow comics published by the company will always be the Eric Draven version of the character, but it's possible McFarlane might look into an adaptation of the film.

Wrap Up of Past News - (The Crow: Salvation, Stairway to Heaven, Comics and Toys!)

Well, it's the time to reflect on the past two or so weeks of Crow News. The Crow Salvation has begun filming on the 15th (Monday) and will close down filming around the 27th of March. Reports have flown in about Kirstin Dunst becoming a female Crow, which would follow the 'Clash by Night' novel, but this is to be taken a rumour for the moment. The Crow #1 by Image comics was released on the 10th, and was better than expected, Jon J. Muth (writer) respects J.O'Barr and his work, which he writes in the afterward of the comic. The comic was released with 2 different covers, the Todd McFarlane and the other. The Todd McFarlane cover comes with every 4 issues a comic store orders (it's pretty good). The Crow / Razor series finally finished with two new issues, 'The Lost Chapter' and 'Nocturnal Masque', both giving no explanation of the plot to the actual series. A Crow toy was desplayed at a Toy Convention with Todd McFarlane, it's a figure of Brandon Lee, with some fantastic rendering. Despite rumors, The Crow: Stairway to Heaven has been picked up with another series. Finally, on the 14th of February, The Crow: A Boy and His Bird site has gained a new News Page manager, Irony Despair (me!), while the other Crow News site The Crow: Impossible Pain closed for business and moved here for around-the-clock Crow News!

Reports on The Crow: Salvation

Still waiting the review of The Crow 3 script, but reports have come in claiming that Kirstin Dunst will appear near the end as a female Crow! This story harks to the 'Clash by Night' story line, only Eric Mabius is being executed, instead of a female character being blown up in an explosion.

The conclusion to The Crow / Razor has been released. The last chapter is no more than a commentry by Eric Draven (or a character like him). Though this issue is called The Lost Chapter, it still makes it hard to understand the plot the the series.
