Still The Crow

As we've reported, never fear Crow Fans, Moviehole confirms all reports:

America keeps 'The Crow'

The net's a buzz – ok, a couple of horror sites – that the fourth “Crow” film, “The Crow: Wicked Prayer” is losing ‘The Crow' from its title. Not so it seems – in the states anyway. A rep for the film checked in to let us know that the film will still be being released under “The Crow: Wicked Prayer” title in America – but couldn't say whether they might release it as ‘Wicked Prayer' overseas.

Wicked Prayer Flies Without The Crow Overseas

As many have probably seen, the overseas poster for Wicked Prayer (insert pic here) does not have "The Crow" in the title. This has led many to assume the film will not be associated with "The Crow" franchise (see Cinescape story) . As far as we know, the overseas promotion of the film without "The Crow" has nothing to do with how it will be marketed in the states.

Stay tuned, we are checking out a report that the trailer for Wicked Prayer will make its debut next February. Check back and see what we find out.

Thanks to Lee for the heads up on the Cinescape story.

Take care.....

Macy Gray Chimes In On Wicked Prayer

In recent days, we have heard from David Boreanaz and Danny Trejo on Wicked Prayer. Now comes some tibits from Macy Gray on what her character is in Wicked Prayer in an MTV.com interview:

Gray is also exploring more acting work after rocking a noteworthy role in "Training Day" and filming an upcoming episode of NBC's "American Dreams," in which she plays soul singer Carla Thomas. She'll have a part in next year's remake of "Around the World in 80 Days," which stars Jackie Chan, as well as in "The Crow: Wicked Prayer." In that flick, the fourth installment in "The Crow" series, she'll play a mistress opposite Dennis Hopper's "evil devil Satan pimp."

"I'm his mistress and bodyguard," Macy clarified. "Mistress bodyguard from hell." What did Macy have to do to prepare for such a role? "Well, you just have to feel like a mistress, you know, and go out and feel like a bodyguard. You don't want to go to hell, you don't want to get into method acting on that level."

To see the full interview, go to the MTV.com news link here.

Thanks to Chuck for the heads up on this.

Take care.

Danny Trejo Talks Wicked Prayer

The folks over at Action-Adventure Movies recently interviewed Wicked Prayer star Danny Trejo. Here is a part of the interview which speaks specifically to Wicked Prayer:

When will we see you act again?
There's a movie called The Crow coming out.

Wicked Prayer?
Yeah, I'm in Wicked Prayer. I play a Baptist Minister Indian chief. Fallen from grace. I'm actually a good guy in this, Baptist minister. He's the chief of the tribe that hates Eddie Furlong's character, The Crow. I scream at him, "How did God choose you?" And it's funny because he turns around and says, "Your daughter did." My daughter is Emmanuelle [Chriqui], his love interest.

So do you have a fight scene with him?
No, I'm a peace activist.

What is your costume?
I wear this feathery thing, it's really kind of cool. You gotta see it, it's a great movie. I think it's going to be the best of the three [previous films].

How is it better than the original?
The director, Lance [Mungia], he just did it. He went over the top, really awesome.

To see the whole interview, go to Action-Adventure Movies.

Thanks to Chuck for the heads up once again…..

Take care….

Boreanaz Talks Crow

Via Superherohype, the Los Angeles Daily News has this to report:

Boreanaz cheers Furlong's 'Crow' comeback

We just might see a resurgence in the career of beleaguered actor Edward Furlong next year -- if his performance in the upcoming "The Crow: Wicked Prayer' is as strong as his fellow star in the feature, "Angel's' David Boreanaz, insists it is.

"He did a great job as the Crow. He's really a good actor. I was surprised,' says Boreanaz. He admits he wasn't sure what to expect from Furlong, the "Terminator 2' star, who in recent years became better known for his drug demons and party-boy escapades with the likes of ex- girlfriend Paris Hilton than for his acting. By the beginning of this year, however, reports had it that Furlong was truly cleaning up his act, staying off alcohol and illegal substances and looking healthier than he had in ages.

Boreanaz reports, "We raised the bar for each other and really had an amazing time getting into what we were doing. We got into each other's face. We're both very physical. I was surprised we didn't get hurt doing the fight scenes. There were a lot of bruises, though.'

The flick also features Tara Reid, plus Dennis Hopper as an underworld boss. "He's one of my icons. I really wanted to work with him,' says David. Boreanaz plays a fugitive ex-con murderer who is "basically a satanic cult member who turns into the Antichrist. He's a great character, and the writing has dimensions behind it.' Still, adds Boreanaz with a slight laugh, "I need to find a lighter role.'

The Crow Story

Nicolas Navarro sends this via Comics2Film about a new printing for The Crow: The Story Behind the Film in the UK with a new cover. Here's the story:

'Crow Story': Tells tale of the tragic comic book movie

"The Crow" is the ultimate cult movie, with a dedicated worldwide following, and two sequels, plus a fourth currently in production. Now, ten years after the original film's release, the full story of this seemingly cursed production can finally be told...

In "The Crow's" last days of filming, its star Brandon Lee (son of Bruce Lee) was killed in a strange on-set accident, while filming his character's death scene. Bridget Baiss describes the chain of events which led from O'Barr's creation of the graphic novel, up to this fateful day, and beyond, to the film's final, triumphant release.

This is the definitive account of "The Crow's" production and the phenomenon it became, packed with scores of interviews with the film's cast and crew.

"The Crow" is a true worldwide cult, spanning the classic graphic novel (also published by Titan), novels, three hit movies and a TV series.

Through vivid personal accounts, Baiss brings to light the inspired and often revolutionary filmmaking techniques that brought this darkly stylish film to the big screen.

The book goes on sale in the UK January 23rd, 2004 from Titan Books (£14.99 – Paperback).
